Blue Gemstones

I've been buying and selling gemstones for over 20 years. My fascination with them began in Asia, and ever since then there has always been a gemstone on my person. Back in the day I thought nothing of wearing huge gem set pendants with matching rings.  These days i'm a bit more conservative. The majority of the gemstones I sell are quite small, designed specifically for jewelers to set. Little gems like this are ideal for slipping into my wallet, or into the change pocket of my jeans.

Back in the early days of my gem odyssey,  there was a gem dealer who's establishment I would frequent in the pink city that is Jaipur. He was also a yogi. He taught me many things about gemstones. But he also opened my eyes to chakras, and the relationship between these points on the body and gemstones.

Chakra is translated from Sanskrit meaning "wheel" of rotating energy and is pronounced (shock-ras).  Chakras, as defined by eastern masters, are intersections of vital energy flow present in the ethereal body and related locations of the physical body. There are hundreds of these intersections, it's related to an acupuncture/acupressure points. Of these points there are 7 major chakras associated with the physical body. Each of these points is associated with a particular part of the body, and a colour.

Ever since hearing this information I've been strongly drawn to blue gemstones, as they relate to the throat chakra. The throat chakra or 5th chakra is located at the neck. It is the center of communication, and expression of creativity buy a thought speech and writing. The throat chakra has been called the communication center acting to provide the energy for, and the understanding of both verbal and mental communication. As a buyer and seller of gemstones, the ability to communicate my ideas in reference to gemstones has always been extremely important to me. Lappers there's only turquoise and sapphire have always played a very big part in my life. I know but I'm blogging so much I'm sure they'll continue to do so.
